Simply click her to apply online or call one of these numbers to file over the phone: 601-855-3133 or 1-888-844-3577 .

However, if you lived in Mississippi but worked elsewhere, or lived and worked in another state, things get a little more complicated. However, this does not mean you cannot apply for unemployment benefits, just that you will need to file for interstate unemployment benefits with the state (or states) where you worked during your base period. A base period includes the first four quarters (total of 12 months) of the last five completed quarters (15 months) starting with the last completed quarter.

Below we include a list of all the unemployment insurance agencies in the United States. Click on the state that applies to you and follow the instructions for interstate claims. The details change from one state to another, but the general process is similar. You will need to call a special number and provide personal information. This information will include your social security number, your telephone, address and the name and contact details of all your employers in the last 18 months. The unemployment insurance agencies need this information to determine if you are eligible for an interstate unemployment compensation claim.

For instance, if you file for an interstate claim from Mississippi to Oregon, you will need to call 1-877-9996 or visit their online claims system. If you are approved you will need to provide any change of address while you claim your benefits and file weekly for benefits online or over the phone. You can change your address by calling (877)877-9996 and file your claims by calling 1-800-982-8920. Of course, the particular process for filing for unemployment benefits from Mississippi to another state will depend on the state where you worked.

Remember when applying for UI benefits in Mississippi, or any state for that matter, that all the information you provide can be used by other agencies approved by the Mississippi Department of Employment Security to check your income and eligibility.
